My name is Mark Rowatt Anderson, I’m 50 and live in Findhorn, home of the world famous Ecovillage and community. I work with people both local and from afar, bringing my unique mix of general business and technology experience to their projects, passions, problems…
I’m a scientist by training (biochemistry), but after doing an MBA at MIT Sloan School, left the world of science for the world of business where I have followed my passion for technology, and for socially responsible business. Over the years I have co-founded three organisations – one still a thriving non-profit 25 years on, one successfully sold just after the dot-com bubble burst, and the other a fantastic learning experience. In between times, I have worked for multinationals, startups and small non-profits.
How I work
Whether it’s a new website, developing a marketing strategy or a contractual issue, you will have specific needs where you believe you need help. You will also have a budget, or at least a sense of how much money it’s worthwhile to spend on the project. My commitment to you is that I will work with you to get the best result for the money and time you are able to put into it. If I can do the work – well – for you directly then I will, but I am equally happy to help you find the best people to do the work and if appropriate help you to manage them.
I don’t do fixed price work for projects unless they are well defined, but for projects of fixed scope (such as web development) will often work on a mix of daily/hourly work to help define a project, and then fixed price once the project outputs are defined.
Irrespective, the starting point is always the same – a conversation about your needs, your constraints, and what you hope to achieve.
